Our Mission

Holidays for the Homeless and Underprivileged, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that works to distribute food and gifts of toys and clothing to as many children as we can possibly reach.

According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, research suggests that in order to meet basic needs, families, on average, must have an income of about twice the federal poverty threshold.  In New Jersey, there were 1,090,039 families with 1,993,346 children living with incomes levels below this figure—$48,072 for a family of four with two children— in 2015.

Holidays for the Homeless and Underprivileged, Inc. was established in 1991 as a vehicle to help make a difference in the lives of children in need. The large number of children we have been able to reach over the years is a result of our work with numerous homeless shelters, battered women's shelters and religious organizations of all denominations, as well as our work with local groups to bring aid to struggling active military families.

Through help from other organizations and community members, as well as donations from business and citizens alike, we are able to ensure that children who would otherwise go without enjoy a holiday filled with gifts geared towards their specific age and personalities.

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.
